Local accommodation can be arrange for our courses at the cost of £95-£110+VAT per night. This includes bed, breakfast, 3 course evening meal and free internet access. We can also book a nights accommodation for the evening before your course is due to start.

Electrical foundation course details
Who should attend the course?
This electrical foundation course is aimed at delegates with little or no experience of electrical work wishing to take the first steps into the electrical industry. It is designed as an introduction to electricity before embarking on the official qualifications such as 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
On completion of the electrical foundation course you will be able to:
Safely isolate an electrical supply in accordance with HSE (G) 85.
Select and check test equipment in accordance with HSE (GS) 38.
Prove for a voltage in accordance with HSE (GS) 38.
Recognise the requirements of BS 7671 with regards to electrical testing.
What is covered?
Basic technical knowledge of electricity.
Dangers of electricity.
Safe isolation of electrical supplies.
Transformers, Extra low voltage and Earthing.
Motors and starters.
Fuse MCB and basic wiring systems.
Lighting replacement and maintenance.
Testing and fault finding.
The electrical foundation course will cover the following theory topics:
Basic electrical theory.
Earthing systems and types of supply.
Protection of/and wiring systems.
Motors, starters and transformers.
Introduction to fault finding.
The electrical foundation course will include the following practical elements:
Resistor testing using test instruments.
Motors and starters testing and wiring.
Safe Electrical Isolation Assessment.
